Hello everyone!
Still excited for the new show Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza? We hope you are! And if you are still sitting on the fence, perhaps these videos will help to cheer you up some:

Well folks, less than a month before the first tapings begin, the new improv show now officially has a title (keep in mind - titles do happen to change - but for now, this is the 'official' title)...
And what is that title, you ask?
"Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza"
Also simply being called 'IMPROV-A-GANZA'.
What do you think? Do you like the new title?
Personally, I have mixed feelings about it. It could be worse. But it doesn't strike me as particularly unique, either.
Also, if you spread this news, it'd be really nice if you please credit me for reporting this first. Thank you. :)

A little over two weeks ago, I made an announcement that the new Whose Line-esque / Improv Allstars improv pilot that had been filmed in Las Vegas last February had been picked up by The Game Show Network, and was set to begin airing episodes in spring of next year. If you missed this post or want to re-read it, here's the link: http://community.livejournal.com/ryan_s
I am writing you all now with a bit of an update! I have found out the official cast list for the show. It includes a vast majority of the U.S. Whose Line old guard, a few folks from Drew Carey Show / Green Screen Show, and a couple of new faces as well:
Drew Carey
Ryan Stiles
Greg Proops
Chip Esten
Jeff B. Davis
Kathy Kinney
Heather Anne Campbell (was in pilot)
Allison Bosma (brand new)
Jonathan Magnum
Colin Mochrie
Brad Sherwood
The show will also occasionally include surprise guest stars.
However, how the cast will work is still unknown. Greg (Proops) is telling me that the details are still yet to be hashed out completely; no one knows who all is filming on what days (or if it's going to be the entire cast). Colin and Brad tour with their two man show, and a few of their tour show dates conflict with the filming schedule (specifically January 15th, 20th, and 22nd). So either they will not be filming those days, or they will have to reschedule those tour dates. We shall have to see!
The show still currently remains nameless, too - though I am speculating that there's a good chance it's just going to be called 'Drew Carey And The Improv Allstars'. But I could easily be wrong in that department.
Hope everyone is getting excited for the new series!

Some of you might recall that earlier this year, back in February, I made a very tantalizing announcement... that there was a possibility that "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" would be returning to television, but in the form of the live show "Improv Allstars". I had been fortunate enough to be a part of and witness the pilot for the new show, and since then, I have been keeping very close tabs on any and all news I could obtain concerning it.
It seemed like such a long shot. No one thought it would actually get picked up and become reality. We all had our doubts, and yet, we sat patiently with fingers crossed.
Well, the waiting is over, and it is time to celebrate and spread the cheer...The pilot for the new improv show, featuring Drew Carey and the stars from Whose Line, has officially been picked up by The Game Show Network (GSN), and will air in the spring of 2011!
Yes, you heard me right! The new show is happening!! It is momentous indeed, for it is the closest thing to a Whose Line revival that we will ever get. The new series (which has yet to be named) will include forty episodes (yes, forty!), half hour in length, all of which will be filmed at the MGM Grand Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, beginning January 13th 2011.
Though it is unclear at this point in time who all will be involved and featured on the new show, we can assuredly assume that Ryan Stiles will be a part of it. The other individuals who were a part of the original pilot were Greg Proops, Kathy Kinney, Chip Esten, Jeff B. Davis, Jonathan Magnum, and new face Heather Anne Campbell. (But just because these performers were a part of the pilot, doesn't necessarily mean that they will be a part of the new show - though we think that it is fairly safe to say that they will be.) All we can tell you is this: articles are claiming that the new show will feature a rotating cast of 'Drew Carey's improv friends' and some special 'guest stars'.
The format of the pilot was Improv Allstars. A host of the games played included Freeze Tag, Sentences, Fairytale, Change, Film And Theatre Styles, Forward Reverse, Moving People, Sound Effects, and Greatest Hits (just to name a few). Improv Allstars - like the other touring live shows featuring the men from Whose Line - does not have a points system. There is no person behind a desk with a buzzer. The games are short form, but they aren't rapid fire (such as Hats or Props were). However, this being said, we still cannot determine if the actual show is going to be based off of how the pilot was, or if changes are going to be implemented. It has been said, however, that there will be no pre-determined suggestions - everything will come straight from the audience (as how it is with the live shows).
If you don't have GSN on your cable or satellite, and you would love to see the show, never fear - we will do our best to host the episodes on the site for you to be able to download and watch. However, because the show is brand new, ratings will likely be important, and we highly encourage each and every fan of Greg and Whose Line and comedy and improv in general to support the new show. It will need all of the love it can get so that it survives for more than just a single season (let's not see it go south the way Green Screen Show did). Please help us spread the word about the new show. Tell it to your family, friends, neighbors, strangers in a cafe, wherever, whenever. We went this news to spread like wildfire, both on the internet, and by word of mouth. This is an important and exciting opportunity for both the fans and the performers. Let's make certain it becomes something special and well-loved.
We will be sure to keep everyone posted with updates on the show as it develops! Until then!

Yay! I finally found this! I hope both the sites get back up. Can't wait to see them. I still am pondering why more people haven't posted fanfics. Anywho, I'm happy this thing is here! I'll post with my fanart or fics or whatever :3

Some of you know about it, but back on October 18th and 20th, I got to see Greg Proops, Ryan Stiles, Chip Esten, and Jeff Davis in Scottsdale and then again in Tucson, Arizona. It was two weekends ago, and I had an absolute BLAST. These shows kicked the Vegas's shows in the ass, I do believe (even though those were pretty damn good, too). And I got to meet all of them, and get pics, and talk to them again. It was fucking awesome.
So here is the first of two write-ups about the show and my fangirlish experiences. I know it's long, but I highly encourage you to please read it as I think you'll enjoy it!! Pictures are included!!

The site has been given a slight makeover and has been switched to version 2.0. Please go and check it out and tell me what you think!
Back on Tuesday, a new Ryan DVD was released. Second City: The First Family Of Comedy includes skits and sketches performed by some of the original and best actors and actresses of this hilarious comedy group. Other than features including Ryan, actors such as Colin Mochrie, Martin Short, Mike Meyers, Dan Aykroid, Jim Belushi, and many more. You can order the DVD off of Amazon, or you can check for it in your local movie stores.
Also in DVD-related information, there's a bit of bad news. The Whose Line Is It Anyway? British DVD box set release has been pushed back to March 26th.
However, perhaps probably the best news of all is that Ryan has decided to do a good deal more touring this year and has added numerous performance dates. The show is with Improv AllStars, not A Night Of Improv. Here are the added dates and venues:

I have completed a good chunk of the website. The Creative and Interactive sections of the site are now entirely done, if you'd like to check them out. They feature icons, fanart, the fanclub, the guestbook, wallpapers, and much more.
One of the things that is now up and done is the forum. It's a nice ad-free PhpBB forum that is desperately seeking some active members. All you have to do is join and you're free to post and begin discussions and topics!
Also, the Gallery section has started to be built. It now hosts three spiffy galleries containing 160 pictures from Hot Shots!, Hot Shots! Part Deux, and Courting Courtney. Check them out and you're allowed to look, but not touch! ((That means NO STEALING! If you'd like to use some pics for something, say for icons, etc., then please ask me first!))
Last, but not least, if you've always wanted to see Ryan perform, here's your chance! Ryan is performing a series of live shows in February and April. Here is the basic information:

Hello, my name is Diane, and welcome Ryanism, the all-new community for actor / comedian Ryan Stiles! This community is linked to the (also new) website Ryan Stiles Net, www.ryan-stiles.net. Together, through both site and community, you will be delivered Ryan news, entertainment information, and fun knickknacks such as icons, banners, etc. The community can also, of course, serve as a hub for Ryan discussions, questions, and chats!
So if you're a Ryan fan of any kind - come one, come all! This community can only be enjoyable, interactive, and fun with your help! ((PS - please be sure to read the rules before you join.))
Current Mood: calm
Today I received a phone call... from the producer of Improv-A-Ganza! Let me tell you, I didn't see that one coming. The guy was very nice, and politely asked me to remove the YouTube video containing the clip from the 'pilot', and to also clarify on my channel and forthcoming Improv-A-Ganza Online site that they were unofficial. No biggie.
However, he allowed me to retain the MGM promos, as they alone have been creating quite a stir with people and creating a lot of positive interest for the new show. He is also going to hook me up with the people from GSN to make sure I can keep posting the GSN commercials (as I have one up currently, and three more saved for later posting).
I will, of course, still be posting videos of my show reviews in a week or so for those interested in what the shows were like, who participated, what games were played, what the setup of the stage was, etc...
The good news is, the producer (I'm not going to give out his name for privacy reasons) has asked if I would like to work with them, and of course, I agreed. So he said that he would be sending me things I could use for the site and YouTube channel occasionally - sort of 'slip me things' that I can use with their permission, before anyone else has it. I don't know what all of this consists of, but I think it's rather exciting and I cannot wait to see what he sends me.
I also learned a few things between him and a few articles that were posted today. First off, the show is set to premiere on March 28th (which is a Monday). It will have a prime-time slot (exact time is not yet known). So this is VERY good for the show! Being in a good time slot gives it a better chance to have more viewings. And the producer did stress to me that, cable or no cable, it will depend heavily on the success of the first season on whether or not it continues. So fingers crossed! :)
I also learned that there has been a slight change in the cast list. Allison Bosma will *not* be a part of the show - but Sean Masterson will! Yay! (I'm personally very happy about this. Now if only Julie was there!) AND, a bit of a disappointment to some folks - Wayne is not going to be involved in the show in any way, shape, or form. No guest spot. I asked why, and what I had surmised turned out to hit the nail on the head - Wayne is off doing his own thing, hasn't really bothered to keep in contact with the others or show any interest, and is busy with his own show. So, that's that.
And there's also supposed to be 20 tapings, not 17, even though only 17 are being shown for available tickets. (Yeah, I'm as confused as you on that one.)
Anyway, that's the update! I hope everyone is as excited for the new show as I am! ^_^
PS - Here's the other MGM promo. Contains a few different clips than the other one, and is in higher quality.
